Strengthening Social Connection in Communities

The Strengthening Social Connection in Communities project is working to improve the health of older adults and their caregivers by replicating and sustaining evidence-based and evidence-informed social connection programs in communities and by promoting alignment with Age-Friendly Ecosystem initiatives.

USAging’s Aging and Disability Business Institute and engAGED: The National Resource Center for Engaging Older Adults are co-managing this initiative.

USAging’s key activities for this project include:

  • Identify evidence-based and evidence-informed social connection programs best positioned for sustainability and spread. View our Program Bank.

  • Establish an evidence-based social connection seed grant program to implement sustainable social connection programs in communities. Learn more about the SSCC grantees

  • Provide technical assistance to grantees through a learning community and foster capacity building by disseminating learnings and outcomes.
