Every May, we honor older adults through Older Americans Month (OAM). The 2021 theme—Communities of Strength—celebrates the critical role older adults play in helping to build strong communities. Older adults have a lifetime of experience, wisdom and talent. By sharing their knowledge and skills with family, friends and other members of their communities, older adults support and inspire others. Social engagement activities like volunteering or intergenerational mentoring provide an opportunity for older adults to stay engaged in and connected to their communities, helping to strengthen communities and make them better places to live.

In this new blog from the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and AmeriCorps Seniors (part of AmeriCorps), they salute older adults for their contributions and service in their communities over the past year. To learn more about the impact older adults have made, read the full blog.
